Last weekend, I joined up with a bunch of bikers from the Milwaukee ABATE chapter and held a sign such as this one for a few hours next to Highway 100. It's not really a highway like you think. It's more of a boulevard with lots of shopping centers and stop lights so drivers can get a good look at your sign. It was a good time with like-minded individuals for a good cause. These awareness rallies are popping up all over the state. I encourage each of you to visit your state's ABATE website and see if they are running an event such as this in your area. I have one of these signs that I plant on my corner every Spring as well.
Or if you prefer, here's the Brit's idea for motorcycle awareness.

Good for you for getting out there with your sign!
Love the video!
mwwwwHAHAHAHAHHhahahaha! I was threatening to do this. Love it. I was going ride naked out in the desert just once to see what it felt like. I'll promise to video it.
Hey! DDay, this is a great idea. Think about it! We get together a few hundred riders and go on a two hour run along a route. All of us buck naked! Who is going to be able to stop it! We just end it on some private property and party for 24 hours. What are they going to do...wait for us?
I say we do this.
I'll have to check out the vid later, I'm at work now. The signs are a great idea! I'll have to do some research around here, but I would post one on my street to.
As far as Dave wanting us all to ride naked... aside from beating the crap outta myself, sounds like fun! LOL! (gravity is not kind!)
I'll check with the MMA on this. I would absolutely do some time on a corner for this.
As far as the Brits...I'm all set on that. I could feel myself chafing just looking at it. I'm also not happy with the scrambling out of what looked like some pretty spectacular tits. Teasing buggers those Brits are!
Europe really has some great PSAs. In California I have yet to see one! Bugs me!
Dave: Pool party my house!
Look twice and then look again!!! When I'm cruising down Interstate 80 on my way to work each day I watch people coming onto the interstate that never look...not a glance. They get in that cage and think that they own the road and everyone else should look out for them. I'm probably overly sensitive to this subject because I ride and the fact that if I ever hit a fellow rider I'd be devastated for the rest of my life!
Thanks for reminding everyone, D-Day and for supporting the cause! We all need to continue to get the word out!
Good message. Unfortunately, I thing some a-holes look twice just to see if there are any witnesses before they do the deed.
As for the Brits idea – if we did that here, I’d be crashing into everything!
Hmmm... How about this... Mix the sign holding with Vegas Show girls. They could be in helmets and very skimpy, yet allowable attire.
Gives me some ideas. :-D
