As some of you have figured out by now, I have a somewhat rebellious nature when it comes to politics and the direction that our country is headed. Both parties have been self-serving and deceptive. I'm getting tired of them pissing down my back and then telliing me that it's raining.I recently got an email from one of my state legislators regarding something called the Tea Party Protests. It's a growing movement across the country and I wanted to share it with you. It's through movements like this where your elected officials see your faces and hear your angry voices that things actually change.
The Tea Party protests, in their current form, began in early 2009 when Rick Santelli, the On Air Editor for CNBC, set out on a rant to expose the bankrupt liberal agenda of the White House Administration and Congress. Specifically, the flawed "Stimulus Bill" and pork filled budget.
During Rick's rant, he called for a "Chicago Tea Party" where advocates of the free-market system could join in a protest against out of control government spending.
A few days later, grassroots activists and average Joe Americans began organizing what would soon become the Nationwide Chicago Tea Party effort. On February 27th, an estimated 30,000 Americans took to the street in 40+ cities accross the country in the first nationwide "Tea Party" protest. Organizers of the February 27th events pledged to continue on with an even bigger and better protest to follow the first. With April 15th being "Tax Day", it was decided to schedule the second round of Tea Party protests to ride alongside the tax deadline. And with that, the "Tax Day Tea Party", the second round of the Nationwide Tea Party protests, moved into reality.
Check out the Tax Day Tea Party website and see what your state is planning. Unfortunately, it's only through events such as this that some elected officials will begin to listen again.

I'll check it out. After all, it was here in Boston that the first Tea Party took place. They all must be turning over in their graves about the leftist rat's nest it's become now.
I'm going to find the info too, but I saw that Fox News yesterday had a fella on that was asking us to send tea bags to congress. After realizing they weren't getting through because of possible mail tampering, (anthrax and such) they have changed the request to just the tea bag label. Those WILL be able to go through. I think if Congress started receiving thousands of tea bag labels in the mail every day, they might get the message! I'm sending some every week!
LOL! WillyD and myself have been planning a "Silicon Chip Party". We are going to heist all known supplies of computer chips here, ride them over to the Bay Bridge and dump them...err...nuts...I was suppose to keep my mouth shut.
I'll check it out! It's coming!
They had one in Monterey two weeks ago. Coming up in Hollister and Sacramento. Heard the guy that started this interviewed last week on the radio. I think him were PO’ed.
Rebel? Dean? Did I miss something. :)
Seriously, thanks for the info!
This sounds like something I need to check out. I've become quite disenchanted with our government, and I'm tired of the BS.
Thanks for posting this!
I've heard of these Tea Parties. They have been on the front page of...no wait. Sorry. That was the Women's Reproductive Health Rally. Um, I know! Katie Cour...no, that CAIR protesting the FBI. Got it! Democratic Underground...no, that was the gathering protesting Club GITMO's existence.
Oh well. I know I heard about them somewhere.
